Maintained by the En'owkin Centre, these conservation lands are located on the boarder of Penticton city limits. Home to a wide variety of red-listed plants and animals, the En'owkin Centre offers educational guided tours through this natural wonderland.
Located on the east side of Okanagan Lake between Penticton and Kelowna is Okanagan Mountain Provincial Park. Numerous activities are offered here throughout the year, including ice fishing and snow shoeing in winter, and hiking, swimming, and fishing in the summer. Campsites are available here as well.
Vaseux Lake Provincial Park is home to a wide range of bird and animal species including trumpeter swans, wood ducks, blue-winged teal, beavers, cottontail rabbits, deer and turtles. Fishing and ice-fishing in Vaseux Lake is very good due to populations of largemouth bass and rainbow trout.
One of Penticton's finest gardens is located behind the Art Gallery of South Okanagan. It is a tribute to Penticton's sister city in Japan and features many Japanese influences.
Located alongside the Penticton Channel, Riverside Park features a rose garden and offers bumper cars, mini golf and access to the channel. There are also picnic areas and walking trails onsite.
Walk the beachfront promenade or play a game of beach volleyball at this waterfront park. Visitors can take advantage of picnic tables, ball diamonds and ball courts plus a large sandy beach close by.
Rotary Park is landmarked by the giant peach concession. It is a popular venue for special events including midways, fireworks and sporting events.
Home to three beaches on Lake Okanagan, Kickininee, Pyramid and Soorimpt, this provincial park is very popular on hot summer days. Each of the sandy beaches includes picnic areas as well as flush and pit toilets, and Soorimpt also features a boat launch. Visitors can boat, swim, snorkel and more. Camping is not permitted at the park.
