Last year more than 2,800 cyclists joined Axel Merckx and friends in the Cortofondo (55 km), Mediofondo (92 km), Velocefondo (120 km) and Granfondo (160 km). Now itís your chance. Take the challenge. Train. Ride. Enjoy. The 7th annual Prospera Granfondo Axel Merckx Okanagan starts in Penticton, B.C., Canada on Sunday, July 9th, 2017. The scenic route follows along parts of lake Okanagan and Skaha Lake and along side some of BC's most beautiful vineyards. Registration for the 7th annual Prospera Granfondo Axel Merckx Okanagan opens mid-October, 2016.

This annual event sees participants swimming 3.1 or 7 km. Swimmers will swim to Rattle Snake Island (located directly across Peachland and is the largest island in Okanagan Lake). Registration required.

Penticton 2017 consists of 6 World Championship Multisport Races held over 10 days, including Sprint & Standard Duathlon, Aquathlon, Cross Triathlon, Aquabike and Long Course World Championships. In addition there will be Opening/Closing Ceremony's, Parade of Nations for the races, and lots of other family activities related to the Festival.

Held every August, Challenge Penticton (formerly the Ironman Canada Triathlon) brings 1700 athletes from around the world to Penticton. A grueling campaign, competitors must swim 3.86 km (2.4 mi), bike 180.2 km (112 mi), and run 42.2 km (26.2 mi). Top finishers in this race qualify for Ironman Hawaii.

The Polar Bear Swim is an annual Peachland event that takes place in January. This event requires those brave enough to endure the chilly waters of Lake Okanagan. Hot chocolate and lots of encouragement will be served at this winter event. The Polar Bear swim is free and requires pre-registration.
