Jul 18 to 20 Internationally recognized the regatta includes water, land, and air events for the whole family. The first Kelowna Regatta was held in 1906 on Okanagan Lake. Eventually the event became known as the Kelowna International Regatta. The Lady of the Lake is crowned at the beauty pageant, there's a parade, and of course, the aquatic show. Aug 24 Held every August, the Ironman Canada Triathlon brings 1700 athletes from around the world to Penticton. A grueling campaign, competitors must swim 3.86 km (2.4 mi), bike 180.2 km (112 mi), and run 42.2 km (26.2 mi). Top finishers in this race qualify for Ironman Hawaii.
